SERENGETI WILDEBEEST MIGRATION.

The Great Wildebeest Migration is one of the NEW SEVEN WONDERS of the World. It is an annual year – round phenomenon where by vast herds of mammals mainly Wildebeest (Gnu), Zebras, Gazelles move around the Serengeti Ecosystem in search of green pastures and water.

An interesting thing is when they are in mission; predators like (Lion, hyenas, Cheetah, Jackals, Leopard, Vultures) follow them behind pruning weak Genes and leave the strong Genes surviving.

What it triggers their movement is weather, making it difficult to predict

From the vast SERENGETI PLAIN (where the migration stay for 10-11 months) to the champagne colored hills of Maasai Mara in southern Kenya (where the migration stay hardly for a month), Over 2.5 million WILDEBEEST, a quarter million ZEBRAS and a half a million GAZELLES migrate within the SERENGETI ECOSYSTEM in a clockwise fashion over 1,800 miles each year in a search of rain and ripened grass.
